Biography
Dorothy Kelly has worked over 27 years as an educator, serving 19 years as a middle school assistant principal and five years as a district administrator. Currently, Dorothy works as a student teacher supervisor for Fontbonne University of St. Louis, Missouri. She recently retired from the School District of Clayton where she served as an assistant principal at Wydown Middle School since 2002 and the Director of the Clayton Voluntary Student Transfer Program since 2005. This program is a desegregation program in which African American and African descent families from St. Louis city apply for participation and once they are selected, children attend St. Louis county suburban school districts.Prior to that Dorothy was a middle school assistant principal in the Mehlville School District from 1991 to 2002. During her teaching career she taught Social Studies, American Studies, and Citizenship in Mehlville and Kirkwood School Districts. All sessions include authentic engagement of participates resulting in application of essential strategies and techniques to use in order to enlighten, enhance, and heal those seeking answers in a professional and caring environment.
