Dear Educators, Friends, and New Visitors,

Are you wondering what ever happened to summer vacation?  We certainly are, but our schedules tell an exciting tale.

In May, Dr. Davis was presented with the Distinguished Career / Professional Service Award by the CHI STATE DELTA KAPPA GAMMA SOCIETY INTERNATIONAL at the Chi State Convention in Fresno, California.  Bonnie was surprised and honored to be recognized for her achievement by this outstanding international society of key women educators.

In June, Dr. Davis moved back to Saint Louis after a lovely few years in sunny California.  Being near friends, family and colleagues is a great thing for Bonnie and the central location makes her rigorous travel schedule easier.  She has been very busy, sharing her knowledge and lively personality with many schools, districts, conferences and communities throughout the country.  One such event was at the Walt Disney World Resorts, Orlando, Florida at the NAAAS (National Association of African American Studies and Affiliates) 2010 Teacher Summer Conference where Dr. Davis presented a three day course from her best selling book, How to Teach Students Who Don't Look Like You:  Culturally Relevant Teaching Strategies.

As the school year approaches, Dr. Davis and the Educating for Change Cadre are preparing new presentation material, staff development courses, and book proposals.  We are excited about the things we learn each day and are even more excited by the prospect of sharing them with educators across America and beyond.
